In Mexico, this day commemorates the Mexican army’s 1861 victory over France in the Battle of Puebla, during the Franco-Mexican War.
In the U.S., it’s become a day to celebrate Mexican heritage.
It’s a bummer when Cinco de Mayo falls on a weekday. It’s hard to take things to the limit on a Tuesday night. But, on a Friday night? It’s perfect.
- Cinco de Mayo can be fun, but it can be a hassle. It’s amateur hour out there. Lots of people fighting for tables and barstools. A better move might be to stay in for Cinco de Mayo – and go out and crush it at the bars on Seis de Mayo.
So get your margarita on ... and post your pics at #CincodeMayo.
