An Ohio lawmaker is trying again at a bill to ban discrimination in housing and employment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-gendered people in Ohio.
Banning discrimination in housing, employment and public accommodation based on sexual orientation or gender identity is the point of State Representative Nickie Antonio's legislation. The Lakewood Democrat says over 60 top companies in Ohio already have policies banning discrimination for LGBT people.
Similar legislation has been introduced in the Ohio legislature over the years since 2009. Antonio joined Equality Ohio, the Human Rights Campaign, Trans Ohio and members of the business community to announce the introduction of the Ohio Fairness Act this week.
