Hyper-Reach Mass Emergency Notification System to Start in Highland County

Highland County residents can now sign-up to receive telephone notifications warning of local emergencies, hazards and other threats through a new service expected to be fully operational by the end of September.

The Hyper-Reach mass emergency notification system is designed specifically for public safety. It will provide notification of hazardous and urgent situations using a mix of telephone calls, texts, and email messages, as well as service for the hearing impaired.

Highland County Emergency Management Director David Bushelman says the agency reviewed all the major vendors for and found that Hyper-Reach provided everything they were looking for. The county plans to use the service primarily for alerts about weather and environmental hazards, criminal activity, and missing persons.

Highland County residents who’d like to take advantage of the new service should call or test ALERT to 937-500-0648. You can also sign up online at hyperreach.com.
