A chase ensued after Hillsboro Police responded to a call of a suspicious person in the 400 block of South West Street at 12:16 this Tuesday morning.
They report that officers found a male occupying a vehicle, but as they were verifying ownership, the occupant put the vehicle in drive and fled.
Officers pursued with lights and sirens, but the driver refused to comply. Pursuit ended near Mowrystown, with officers apprehending 21-year-old Austin Hilterbran of Hillsboro.
He was charged with failure to comply, reckless operation, and more. Hilterbran was transported to the Highland County Justice Center.
