Fayette County Memorial Hospital (FCMH) has updated its COVID-19 testing standards to follow the recommendations set forth by the Governor and the Ohio Department of Health.
“Due to the limited supply of COVID-19 tests available, effective immediately, testing for the virus is limited to healthcare workers and those whose illness is severe enough to require hospitalization,” explains FCMH CEO Mike Diener. Patients with mild to moderate symptoms related to the virus should call the Adena Coronavirus Hotline at 740-542-SAFE (7233) and speak with a healthcare worker to determine the best course of action.
Those who need immediate medical care should go to the Emergency Department or call 911. Other changes at FCMH this week were made to help prevent the spread of germs and care for the community. The Same Day Care Clinic hours are being monitored and adjusted as needed to accommodate patients.
The most current hours will be posted on www.fcmh.org. In order to observe social distancing, all FCMH patients who have an appointment or procedure scheduled at the healthcare facility should call in advance for pre-registration by phone.
“Everything we do right now is with a heightened awareness for patient and staff safety,” Diener said. “The situation around COVID-19 is always evolving and our staff is committed to adapting to meet the current needs.”
