Retail development was on the mind of Washington Court House City manager Joe Dennen in his iHeart Media Communique interview, that will be heard this Sunday morning.

Dennen says he's been pleased with the growth of retail in the downtown and adds they will be working with the owner of the Washington Square Shopping Center on the city's east side, in an effort to get more stores to locate after an exodus of many stores there.

The mostly vacant Washington Square Shopping Center in Washington Court House is expected to get more attention for retail development this year, including working with the owner of the shopping center to recruit new stores.

Dennen says they hope to see the same interest seen in the downtown and the southwest side of town, reflected in Washington Square.
