The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred at 1:31pm Wednesday at the intersection of State Route 753 and the US Route 35 westbound exit ramp in Union Township.
According to Sheriff Vernon P. Stanforth, 51-year-old William Paxson of Springfield, Ohio was operating a motorcycle exiting westbound US 35 onto SR 753, when he slid through a stop sign on the wet pavement and into the path of a semi-tractor trailer, operated by LeManuel Wright of Reynoldburg.
Paxson was transported by Fayette County EMS to the Fayette County Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries. Wright claimed no injuries and remained at the scene.
Northbound lanes of SR. 753 were closed a short time to conduct the crash investigation.
