Video Game Addiction Is Now Considered A Mental Illness

The World Health Organization now considers video game addiction a mental illness.

Something called "gaming disorder" is now in the organization’s Internal Classification of Diseases. This is a big deal because the book is one of the most respected sources available for doctors. They take this stuff very seriously.

In case you were wondering, a true video game addict will continue playing "even when negative consequences occur," such as a disconnection from family, friends, school and work -- as well as messed up sleep patterns, diet problems and zero physical activity. (NBC News)
