SOFTBALL:

Chillicothe 12, Hillsboro 2

Chillicothe pulled away from Hillsboro in the 4th inning to remain undefeated in SCOL action with a 12-2 win.

The Cavs scored twice in the home-half of the first before Hillsboro scored in the top of the 4th to close to 2-1. Chillicothe crossed the plate three times in the 4th, three more in the 5th and added four runs in the 6th.

Tori Bettendorf collected 4 rbi’s on three hits while Olivia Ray limited the Indians to three hits.

Chillicothe improves to 6-2 on the season and 5-0 in the SCOL.

Clinton-Massie 13, East Clinton 3

Trailing 3-2 after the first two innings the Lady Falcons exploded for 10 total runs in the 3rd and 4th innings to defeat the Lady Astros.

Emily Wood had a homer and 4 rbi's in the contest, winning pitcher Taylor Flanigan had three doubles and a complete game victory.

Washington 10, McClain 2

The Lady Lions picked up a win Wednesday night behind the pitching of Kate Jude as she gave up only one earn run and had 5 strikeouts with no walks.

Ali Willett took the loss for McClain. Katy Unger and Sarah Thompson had two hits each for the Lady Tigers.

BASEBALL:

Hillsboro 7, Chillicothe 0

Hillsboro’s Jacob Helterbrand handcuffed Chillicothe batters Wednesday in a 7-0 at Chillicothe’s Ron Hansel Field. The Indians’ southpaw starter held the Cavs scoreless on three hits and striking out 12 Chillicothe batters.

The Indians touched Chillicothe starter Nick Rinehart for 7 runs, 4 unearned, on four hits. Rinehart had 4 walks on the day.

Clinton Massie 8, East Clinton 2

East Clinton got on the board first when Garrett Woods singled home Jerrett Huff who had doubled. Massie counteracted in the bottom half with a walk and a 2 run home run by Collett. The Falcons sent seven batters to the plate in the first for a 3-1 lead.

Massie took advantage of a couple of Astros errors in the 5th for a 5-2 lead and tacked on three more runs in the 6th.

Washington 10, McClain 0

Christian Johnson threw a 1 hitter and had 6 strikeouts as Washington CH goes to 7-4 overall & 3-2 SCOL.

Three players---Tyler Sloane, Heath Cassidy and Gearhart Ferguson all had 2 hits each to lead the Blue Lions hitting attack.

Caleb Rayburn took the loss for McClain.

TENNIS:

Clinton Massie 3, East Clinton 2

1st Singles: Adam Brausch (CM) outlasted Paul Luttrell (EC) 6-2, 7-6 (7-4)

2nd Singles: Luke Meares (EC) took Jacob Hammonds (CM) 4-6, 6-2, 6-0

3rd Singles: Meranda Bors (CM) defeated Jack Whittenburg (EC) 6-0, 6-2

1st Doubles: Erik Moore/Marshall Pickering (EC) defeated Johnny Sturgis/Phillip Parker (CM) 6-3, 6-4

2nd Doubles: Andrew Stewart/Gabe Patterson (CM) took Nate Morgan/Sam Runk (EC) 6-2, 6-2

Unioto 5, Miami Trace 0
