Clinton Massie 11, Miami Trace 1 (5 innings)

The Falcons held the Panthers to 1 hit (a RBI double by Trevor Haines) and handed the Panthers their second straight loss on Tuesday. The Panthers also had 5 errors in the contest.

C-M was led by Ryan Collett who won the game including striking out 9 batters and also had 3 hits on offense. Isiah Stiverson and Scott McFadden had 2 RBIs each for the Falcons (10-3 overall/4-1 SCOL).

Miami Trace drops to 11-2 overall & 5-2 in the SCOL.

Chillicothe 11, Logan 0

Chillicothe's Nolan Taylor no-hit the Logan Chieftains Tuesday and the offense provided plenty of run support in an 11-0 win.

The Cavs put a three spot on the board in the 3rd inning and tagged Logan for 8-runs in the 6th, but Taylor was the story on the mound. The senior recorded 5 strike outs and retired the 19 batters he faced.

Jalen Mischal did the most damage at the plate for Chillicothe doubling twice with 5 rbi.

Chillicothe closses in on .500 for the season at 6-7.

Thursday's game with Circleville will be played at VA Memorial Stadium.

Paint Valley 11, East Clinton 7

Garrett Woods singled in Jerrett Huff to give the Astros a 1-0 lead, but then Paint Valley scored 8 runs on a walk, a sac bunt and 4 hits to give themselves some breathing room.

Brent Newman had a triple and a home run for East Clinton. "We finished the game with 10 hits" said Coach Jim Huff. "We didn't give up at all and scored 6 of our 7 runs in the last 3 innings. We played well but that 1 inning that has haunted us came early in the game and we couldn't recover."

Chillicothe 8, Logan 5

Chillicothe got on the board first with a 2-run 3rd inning, but the Lady Chiefs tallied three runs in the home half of the inning. Both teams scored two runs apiece in the 5th, but then Chillicothe put the game away with a 4-run 6th.

Hayley Woodbridge belted a three run homer, MacKenzie Smitley and Bri Dawes also had homers on the afternoon as the Cavs pounded out 17 hits.

Olivia Ray walked five and struck out five in picking up the win.

The Cavs travel to Waverly Thursday.

Unioto 9, Washington CH 4

Unioto sent 12 batters to the plate in the 7th inning and wiped out a 4-0 deficit. Kate Jude took the loss for WCH (3-13 overall/3-3 SCOL). Wendy Hawk had three hits for the Lady Lions.

Clinton-Massie 16, Miami Trace 13

For second night in a row the Lady Panthers loss on a walk off homer.

Tuesday night the Falcons scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning wrapping it up with a 1 out three run homer by Lady Falcons (8-3 overall/4-1 SCOL) Cerrin Smith. Emile Fisher, Emily Wood and Carolyn Robinson all had 4 hits as the Lady Falcons pounded out 21 hits in the contest.

Miami Trace (6-6 overall/4-3 SCOL) was led by AIranna Mabra and Lacey Glipsie with 3 hits each as the Lady Panthers had 18 hits in the contest. Alexis Schwartz hit her 3rd homer of the season and her second in two nights.

Huntington 13, McClain 0

Alayna Lytle struck out 17 McClain batters and allowed just a hit in Huntington's win.

East Clinton Girls Finish 4th at London Meet

The Lady Astros competed in the London Quad last night and took 4th place. Despite the cold weather, many girls set personal records and placed high in their events.

The Lady Astros were lead by senior Alexis Ruble, who took 1st place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1'13.04. She also added to her big day with a 4th place finish in the 200 meter dash and a 3rd place finish in the 400 meter relay with fellow teammates Brooke Carpenter, Rebecca Noggle, and Courtney Graves.

Junior Brooke Carpenter also took 4th in the 100 meter dash and 5th in the 200 meter dash in which she set a personal record adding to her big night.

Junior Rebecca Noggle's first time running the 1600 meter dash last night netted her a 3rd place finish in that race.

Senior Kristyn Bogan also performed well for the Lady Astros with a 3rd place finish in the 100 meter dash and a 4th place finish in the 100 meter hurdles.

Other Lady Astro placers were :

Junior Shallen Sabino with a 4th place finish in the 300 meter hurdles, a 5th place finish in the 100 meter hurdles, and a 5th place finish in the high jump.

Freshman Haylee Garrison with a 5th place finish in the 1600 meter dash and the 100 meter dash.

The Lady Astros on Friday at the Clinton Massie Classic and Saturday at the Southeastern Invitational.

East Clinton Boys Place 3rd at London

The East Clinton Boys track team traveled to London Tuesday night and came up just 5 points shy of winning the meet. The Boys scored 68 points to come in 3rd place. West Jefferson took 1st place with 73 points.

The Astros were lead by the distance runners. Caleb Broughton took first in the mile, Ian Henson came in 1st in the 800 meter run, and 2nd in the mile and Josh Jones took 2nd place in the 2 mile. The boys 4x200 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay teams also took first place.
