Jackson 5, Hillsboro 0

Jackson's sophomore pitcher Hunter Sexton hurled a complete game one-hit shutout to beat Hillsboro 5-0 Monday in the Division 2 District Semis at Ohio University.

The (11-15) Indians came into the game, hoping to continue their tournament upset magic after wins over Circleville and Washington CH, but it wasn't to be.

The Ironmen offense got all of their runs in the second inning, and saw Sexton hold the line on the mound for the win. Hillsboro was able to manage only two runners in scoring position all night, and that was in the seventh inning, but were left stranded on second and third. Sexton finished with 15 strike-outs.

Jackson will play Logan Elm Wednesday for the district title, after the Braves topped Gallia Academy 8-2.

East Clinton had its season come to an end in the Sectional tournament.
