Washington Court House’s Tori Merritt and Greenfield McClain’s Tara Karnes qualified Thursday at the Division 2 New Concord regionals at Muskingum College for the Ohio High School Track & Field State Championships next weekend at The Ohio State University.

Tori finished third in the high jump, while Tara finished in 4th place in the girls shot put.

On Saturday the Lady Blue Lions will have finalists… Emily Bath (pole vault), Alexis Gary (800 & 1600 meter runs) participating. Gary is also part of the qualifying 4 x 400 meter relay team with Kynzie Osbourne, Molly Richards, Morgan Harper.

Trevor Mustard from Washington CH will be in the shot put finals.

Miami Trace’s Caleb Wilt qualified for Saturday's finals in the 110 & 300 meter hurdles, Tyrae Pettiford will be in the 800 meter run finals and will join his three brothers--Marcel, Deandre and Cedric to make up the Panthers’ 4 x 400 meter relay team.

Lady Panther qualifiers for Saturday regional finals are Ashlei Benitez in the discus and Kelsey Wilson in the 400 meter run.

Greenfield McClain’s Tara Karnes will try to qualify for the state in the discus, Jhaela Coleman goes in the 100 meter dash finals, Ryan Faulconer is in the boys shot put and Mikel Pritchard goes in the 800 meter run.

Top four finishers in each event goes to the state meet. 

On Friday afternoon at Welcome Stadium, Clinton Massie Aaron Gullette will run in the Division 2 Dayton regionals on the 1600 meter run.
