Marilyn L. Knisley

Marilyn L. Knisley, age 79, of Washington C.H. went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a long battle with Alzheimer’s early Thursday morning October 21, 2017 at St. Catherine’s Manor where she had been residing for the past year.

  Marilyn “Peach” was born October 27, 1937 in Washington C.H. to John Ervin and Florence Robinette Schiller.  She was a member of the class of 1955 from Washington High School.  She was previously employed at Carroll Halliday Ford and was a proprietor of The Acorn maternity and children’s clothing store in downtown Washington C.H.  She was a member of the Church of Christ in Washington C.H. and Greenfield. 

   Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents John and Florence Robinette Schiller, a brother Willard Schiller and earlier this year by her closest sister, Barbara Palmer. 

   She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Edward Knisley; her daughter, Mina Jones, her son David Knisley and his wife Linda, and by her grandson J.T. Jones.  Also surviving are her sisters, Mildred Holbrook and Virginia Elliott, both of Washington C.H., and Marjorie Morrison of Circleville.   

   The funeral service will be held at the Summers Funeral Home on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 until 5:00 on Sunday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Greenfield Church of Christ, 955 Jefferson St., Greenfield Ohio 45123 or Heartland Hospice, 116 Morris Rd. #C, Circleville Ohio 43113.  The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Catherine’s Manor and Heartland Hospice for the loving care provided to Marilyn in her final months.
