Donald "Don" E. Bowdle

DONALD “DON” E. BOWDLE, age 86, of Washington CH, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 8:58 p.m. at his home.

He was born on August 6, 1931 in Ross County to Earl and Bessie Toops Bowdle. He was a 1949 graduate of Frankfort High School. Don proudly served his country in the US Army while stationed in Korea. He retired from Crop Production Services, formerly Mid-Ohio Chemical after forty-one years of service. Don was a member at the Unity Fellowship Church and was also a past member of the Assembly of God, where he held various board positions and taught Sunday school. He enjoyed singing, fellowship at church, playing softball, hunting, fishing, mowing his lawn, and being with his family.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Carl Bowdle, Leah Stewart, and Lois Downing; and son-in-law, Theodore “Ted” Pierson.   

Survivors include his wife, Regina Wolfe Bowdle, whom he married on September 30, 1951; children, Lynn Pierson, and Lowell Bowdle, and his wife, Shannon Bowdle; grandchildren, Kelsey Bowdle, and her significant other, Deskins Campbell, Madeline Sternberg, Eli Sternberg, and Bryn Bowdle; and great-granddaughter, Harper Campbell. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Summers Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with burial to follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
