Lindy Dale Wilson

Lindy Dale Wilson, 88, of Canal Winchester, Ohio died Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 4:23 p.m. at the Crestview Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Lancaster where he had been residing the past three years.

Mr. Wilson was born November 17, 1928, in Fayette County, Ohio to James Marion and Mary Estella Cavinee Wilson.  He was a graduate of Washington High School and moved to Canal Winchester in 1967, from Jeffersonville.

He was a retired farmer and nurseryman and was a talented horticulturist and gardener and loved tending flowers, trees and grasses.

Lindy was a godly man who was a former Sunday school teacher, sang in the church choir and assisted with the Shiloh Youth Ministries in Columbus.

He was an Air Force veteran and served as a chief control tower operator during the Korean Conflict.

Lindy was preceded in death by twelve siblings, Marion Elmo, Woodrow, Robert, James, Richard and Beryl Wilson, Elizabeth Haines, Marjorie Baxla, Esther Schlichter, Martha Pierce, Fern Miller and an infant sister, Ursel.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Nell Cowart whom he married September 25, 1952; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Malcolm Turrill of Pickerington and Lise and Russell Roth of Ashville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Dustin (Amanda) Wagner, Kelly Turrill, Russell (Stacie) Roth and Mary (Jeremiah) Jacobsen and six great grandchildren, Amie, Joshua and Natalie Roth, Judah and Abigayle Linde Jacobsen and Donovan Days.

The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Dick Johnson, minister at the Lancaster Vineyard Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 Noon Saturday until time of the service.
