Women age 40 and older should receive a mammogram every year. Early detection of breast cancer can significantly improve a woman’s chance of survival.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Susan G. Koman Foundation at St. Elizabeth hospital, women in our area now have the opportunity to receive a mammogram at no cost. On Friday, June 20th, St. Elizabeth Hospital’s mobile unit will be providing mammogram screenings at the Highland County Health Department for women age 40 and older. Women do not have to be a resident of Highland County to take advantage of this service.
Women with or without coverage are eligible to receive a mammogram. Medicare, Medicaid and private insurances will be billed. However, no one will be responsible for any deductible, co-pays, or out-of-pocket expenses. Appointments are required.
For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact the Highland County Health Department at 937-393-1941.
