Legal Immigrant to Speak about Life in Cuba, Being in Prison in Cuba, and Implications for the US
San Tiago Lopez, a Washington Court House resident, was imprisoned in Cuba after some acquaintances tried to escape the island. He lost his job and was never employed there again. After many applications to the US Embassy, he was granted asylum. He will tell his story, including what it was like to be in a Cuban prison. He will give some historical perspective on Cuba and will indicate what he has observed since coming to this country. Please join us.
