District 9 Travel Report

For the week ending March 25, 2017: The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system in ODOT District 9. DISTRICTWIDE

A districtwide raised pavement marker (RPM) project is scheduled to begin the week of April 3. Crews will be installing RPMs at various locations on routes throughout the District 9, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained by flaggers, arrow boards and/or temporary signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in late spring. (#17-1000)

ADAMS COUNTY

A culvert liner installation project has begun on S.R. 41 at the 31.31-mile marker, between T.R. 214 (Sutphin Road) and T.R. 213 (Smoky Corners Road), approximately three miles south of the Highland County line. Throughout construction, there should be little impact to traffic as most work will be conducted off the roadway; however, traffic will be maintained by flaggers as needed during hours of operation. The project is scheduled to be completed by early summer. (#16-0523)

BROWN COUNTY

MARCH 27-29: S.R. 125 (West Main Street) will be closed at its junction with U.S. 62 in the village of Russellville for a culvert replacement project by the village. Motorists will be detoured via U.S. 62 and U.S. 68.

MONDAY, APRIL 3: A realignment/relocation project is scheduled to begin on S.R. 41 at its junction with S.R. 763 and T.R. 563 (Slickaway Road). The route will be closed for up to 160 days, and while it is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of U.S. 52, S.R. 136 and S.R. 125 in Adams County. All work is anticipated to be completed in mid to late fall. (#16-0527)

CLINTON COUNTY

3/2/17 The westbound lane of Sabina Road will be closed for bridge repair. Located between Starbuck Road and Second Street in the Village of Port William in Liberty Township, Clinton County. Traffic will be maintained during the duration of this project with temporary traffic signals. Please use caution when proceeding through the work zone. The project is anticipated to take six weeks.

HIGHLAND COUNTY

3/24/17 Sinking Spring Rd. between Cedar Chapel & 41 is closed today for tree trimming.

3/24/17 Hollowtown Rd. between Taylorsville & Surber is closed today for tree trimming.

MONDAY, APRIL 3: A bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin on S.R. 753. The project site is located between T.R. 313A (Beaver Road) and T.R. 310 (Deer Park Road), approximately 1.5 miles north of U.S. 50 at Rainsboro. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane with temporary signals. (#16-0511)

JACKSON COUNTY:

MONDAY, MARCH 20: A major reconstruction project will begin on S.R. 93 in the city of Jackson. Crews will be placing asphalt, installing curbs and sidewalks, and replacing drainage lines on Main Street, between Portsmouth and Bridge streets. During construction, the route will be subject to a 60-day closure, and traffic will be detoured via Broadway, Water and Bridge streets. At all other times, traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#16-0532)

MONDAY, APRIL 3: U.S. 35 will be reduced to one lane in the eastbound direction between T.R. 223 (Caves Road) and C.R. 21 (Oakland Road) for a slide repair project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane in the eastbound direction, while traffic will be maintained in two lanes in the westbound direction. All four lanes of the route may be subject to short-term, intermittent periods of closure during blasting operations; however, traffic will be stopped and held by flaggers. (#16-0454)

LAWRENCE COUNTY

A slide repair project has begun on S.R. 243, between C.R. 55 (Deering-Middle Leatherwood Road) and C.R. 30 (Leatherwood Road). The project site is situated approximately one mile west of S.R. 378, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by temporary signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in late spring. (#16-0445)

A bridge rehabilitation project has begun on S.R. 140 for a bridge rehabilitation project. The project site is located between C.R. 33 (Blackfork-Firebrick Road) and the Jackson County line, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary signals. All work is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer. (#17-0062)

S.R. 217 will be reduced to one lane between T.R. 79 (Ridge Baptist Church Road) and C.R. 2 (Greasy Ridge Road) for a slide repair project. The project site is situated approximately two miles west of S.R. 775, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by temporary signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in late spring. (#16-0600)

Major construction of the new Ironton-Russell Bridge has been completed, and the new bridge is open to traffic. Crews will be completing minor finishing work on the structure as weather permits; however, there should be little impact to traffic. In addition, crews are working to demolish the former Ironton-Russell Bridge, and the bridge and all access to it is closed. PIKE COUNTY

MONDAY, MARCH 20: Preliminary operations will begin for a bridge replacement project on C.R. 43 (Jasper Road). Crews will replacing the bridge over Sugar Run, and during the first phase of the project, traffic will be maintained by flaggers and impacts should be minimal. Later inthe project, traffic will be maintained in one lane with temporary signals. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#16-3038)

S.R. 104 is closed between S.R. 552 and T.R. 420 (Boswell Run Road) as part of the Lake White Dam rehabilitation and bridge replacement project. In addition, S.R. 551 is closed between its junction with S.R. 104 and C.R. 93 (Bricker Road), near the park office. Through traffic is being detoured by way of U.S. 23 and S.R. 32, and local traffic to the Lake White region is being detoured via S.R. 552 and S.R. 220. Roadway construction is anticipated to be completed by late Spring 2017, and the lake is expected to be restored for the fishing and boating season in 2017. ROSS COUNTY

A slide repair project has begun on U.S. 50 at the 8.04-mile marker, between T.R. 38 (Dill Road) and T.R. 150 (California Hollow Road), approximately three miles east of Bainbridge. During the first phase of construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers. During subsequent phases of the project, traffic will be maintained by temporary signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#16-0516)

SCIOTO COUNTY

MONDAY, MARCH 20: A bridge replacement and signal removal project will begin on S.R. 139. The project site is located adjacent to Rosemount Selby Road, just north of the Portsmouth corporation limit, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary signals. All work is anticipated to be completed by mid-summer. (#17-0067)

MONDAY, MARCH 20: Operations for a microsurfacing project are scheduled to begin on U.S. 23. Crews will be paving the route and repairing structures from the northern corporation limit of Portsmouth to T.R. 1204 (Ridge Road) at Lucasville, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane in each direction. All work is anticipated to be completed by mid-summer. (#17-0032)

A culvert replacement project is under way on S.R. 73 at the 11.73-mile marker, immediately west of C.R. 41 (Big Spruce-Little Bear Road) and approximately four miles east of Otway. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary signals, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#16-0552)

S.R. 335 will be reduced to one lane between T.R. 206 (Bull Run Road) and C.R. 204 (Cathey Road), approximately 2.5 miles south of the Pike County line, for a culvert replacement project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary signals, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#16-0538)
