District 9 Travel Report

For the week ending April 8, 2017: The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system in ODOT District 9. DISTRICTWIDE

A districtwide raised pavement marker (RPM) project is scheduled to begin the week of April 3. Crews will be installing RPMs at various locations on routes throughout the District 9, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained by flaggers, arrow boards and/or temporary signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in late spring. (#17-1000)

ADAMS COUNTY

MONDAY, APRIL 10: S.R. 73 will be closed at the 13.58-mile marker, just east of the intersection with C.R. 18 (Jaybird Road), for a single-day culvert replacement project. The project site is two miles west of the Scioto County line, and the closure will be in effect from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists will be detoured via S.R. 32 and S.R. 772.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12: S.R. 73 will be closed at the 13.47-mile marker, just east of C.R. 18 (Jaybird Road) for a single-day culvert replacement project. The closure will be in effect from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and while it is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 32 and S.R. 772.

MONDAY, APRIL 10: A resurfacing project on S.R. 73 is scheduled to begin the week of April 10. Crews will be paving the route from the Highland to the Scioto County. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers, and the project is scheduled to be completed in early fall. (#17-0118) A resurfacing project has begun on S.R. 136, and contractors will paving the route from its junction with S.R. 125 to S.R. 32 at Winchester. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work, and the project is anticipated to be completed in early summer. (#17-0005)

Operations for a resurfacing project have begun on U.S. 52, where contractors will be paving the route from the Brown County line to the eastern corporation limit of Manchester. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work, and the project is anticipated to be completed in early summer. (#16-0610)

A culvert liner installation project has begun on S.R. 41 at the 31.31-mile marker, between T.R. 214 (Sutphin Road) and T.R. 213 (Smoky Corners Road), approximately three miles south of the Highland County line. Throughout construction, there should be little impact to traffic as most work will be conducted off the roadway; however, traffic will be maintained by flaggers as needed during hours of operation. BROWN COUNTY

Preliminary operations for a culvert replacement project have begun on U.S. 62 during the week of April 3. The project site is situated between T.R. 58 (Wilson Road) and C.R. 95 (Stivers Road), just south of the Highland County line, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane with temporary signals. All work is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#17-0048)

Operations are under way on S.R. 41 for a realignment/reconstruction project at the route’s junction with T.R. 563 (Slickaway Road) and S.R. 763. During the first phase of construction, traffic will be maintained by flaggers; however, S.R. 41 will be subject to a 160-day closure. The closure is anticipated to go into effect April 24; T.R. 563 will also be closed as part of this project. While S.R. 41 is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 52, S.R. 136 and S.R. 125 in Adams County. (#16-0527)

CLINTON COUNTY

5/30/17 Beginning Tuesday, May 30th, weather permitting, Creek Road will be closed for a culvert repair. This culvert is located between George Road and US 22/SR 3 in Adams Township, Clinton, county. The last address accessible from the south (George Rd.) is 655 Creek Rd. and the last address accessible from the north (US 22/SR 3) is 549 Creek Rd. The project is anticipated to take one week.

 FAYETTE COUNTY

5/17/17 Rowe-Ging Rd. will be closed until Friday, May 24th from St. Rt. 41 to Armbrust Rd. to replace a culvert.

5/3/17 York Rd. will be closed for 4 weeks from Barrett Rd. to Greenfield Sabina Rd. to replace two culverts.

HIGHLAND COUNTY

5/24/17 Bectal Rd. between Sr. 753 & 138 is closed today for ditching.

5/24/17 Fisher Rd. between Mad River Rd. & the County Line will be closed today for pipe repair

5/24/17 Mad River Rd. between Grande & 55 is closed today for ditching.

On Tuesday, April 25, S.R. 135 will be closed between U.S. Route 50 at Allensburg and County Road 33 (Anderson Road) for crews from the Highland County Highway Maintenance Facility to replace a deteriorated pipe. The closure is scheduled to go into effect at 8 a.m. Tuesday, and it will remain in effect until approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, or until all work is completed.
While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of U.S. 50 at Allensburg to S.R. 134 at Dodsonville and S.R. 135 at Lynchburg. Completion of the project will be contingent upon the weather. For additional information on lane and

5/18/17 Ross Rd. between New Vienna and St. Rt. 73 is closed today pipe repair.

FRIDAY, APRIL 14: A paving project will begin on S.R. 28, from the Leesburg corporation limit to the western corporation of Greenfield. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers, and the project is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#16-0494)

FRIDAY, APRIL 14: Contractors will be paving S.R. 41 from the northern corporation limit of Greenfield to the Fayette County line. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers when crews are at work, and the project is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#16-0494)

A bridge replacement project is under way on S.R. 753. The project site is located between Beaver and Deer Park roads, approximately 1.5 miles north of U.S. 50 at Rainsboro. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane with temporary signals. (#16-0511)

Monday, April 17: Crews will close Township Road 217 (Warlamount Road) at its junction with U.S. 62 to replace a deteriorated pipe that is situated under the township road at the routes' intersection. The project site is situated immediately off U.S. 62, between the state highway and the road's junction with Swisshelm Road.

Warlamount Road will be closed from approx. 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and while the route is closed, motorists may detour locally by way of C.R. 7 (New Market Road) and C.R. 5 (Mad River Road) or via C.R. 97 (Muhlbach Road) and T.R. 205 (Griffith Road). Although U.S. 62 will remain open, traffic may be reduced to one lane and maintained by flaggers intermittently when crews are at work.

JACKSON COUNTY:

A major reconstruction project is under way on S.R. 93 in the city of Jackson. Crews will be placing asphalt, installing curbs and sidewalks, and replacing drainage lines on Main Street, between Portsmouth and Bridge streets. During construction, the route will be subject to a 60-day closure, and traffic will be detoured via Broadway, Water and Bridge streets. At all other times, traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#16-0532)

U.S. 35 will be reduced to one lane in the eastbound direction between T.R. 223 (Caves Road) and C.R. 21 (Oakland Road) for a slide repair project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane in the eastbound direction, while traffic will be maintained in two lanes in the westbound direction. All four lanes of the route may be subject to short-term, intermittent periods of closure during blasting operations; however, traffic will be stopped and held by flaggers. (#16-0454)

LAWRENCE COUNTY

Operations for a resurfacing are under way on S.R. 93, and crews will be paving the route from its junction with U.S. 52 at Ironton to T.R. 623 (Sand Hollow Road) near S.R. 373. The project also includes bridge repair work at various locations within the project zone, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with flaggers. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-summer. (#16-0621)

Preliminary operations for a slide repair project have begun on S.R. 243, between C.R. 55 (Deering-Middle Leatherwood Road) and C.R. 30 (Leatherwood Road). The project site is situated approximately one mile west of S.R. 378, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by temporary signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in late spring. (#16-0445)

A bridge rehabilitation project have begun on S.R. 140 for a bridge rehabilitation project. The project site is located between C.R. 33 (Blackfork-Firebrick Road) and the Jackson County line, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary signals. All work is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer. (#17-0062)

S.R. 217 will be reduced to one lane between T.R. 79 (Ridge Baptist Church Road) and C.R. 2 (Greasy Ridge Road) for a slide repair project. The project site is situated approximately two miles west of S.R. 775, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by temporary signals. Major construction of the new Ironton-Russell Bridge has been completed, and the new bridge is open to traffic. Crews will be completing minor finishing work on the structure as weather permits; however, there should be little impact to traffic. In addition, crews are working to demolish the former Ironton-Russell Bridge, and the bridge and all access to it is closed. PIKE COUNTY

Preliminary operations have begun for a bridge replacement project on C.R. 43 (Jasper Road). Crews will replacing the bridge over Sugar Run, and during the first phase of the project, traffic will be maintained by flaggers and impacts should be minimal. During late phases of the project, traffic will be maintained in one lane with temporary signals. (#16-3038)

S.R. 104 is closed between S.R. 552 and T.R. 420 (Boswell Run Road) as part of the Lake White Dam rehabilitation and bridge replacement project. In addition, S.R. 551 is closed between its junction with S.R. 104 and C.R. 93 (Bricker Road), near the park office. Through traffic is being detoured by way of U.S. 23 and S.R. 32, and local traffic to the Lake White region is being detoured via S.R. 552 and S.R. 220. Roadway construction is anticipated to be completed by late Spring 2017, and the lake is expected to be restored for the fishing and boating season in 2017. ROSS COUNTY

MONDAY, APRIL 10: A paving and bridge repair project is scheduled to begin on U.S. 23/U.S. 35 the week of April 10. The project extends from just north of the S.R. 159 interchange on U.S. 23 to the C.R. 238/Main Street at the U.S. 23/U.S. 35 bypass. Construction also includes bridge repair work at the C.R. 241 (Marietta Road) overpass and the C.R. 235 (Hopetown Road) underpass. Throughout construction, traffic on U.S. 23 will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction; however, C.R. 241 will be subject to closure later in the project. All work is scheduled to be completed in late summer. (#17-0105)

Preliminary operations are scheduled to begin for a resurfacing project on S.R. 159, from the intersection with C.R. 553 (Kenworth Road) to the Pickaway County line. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers when crews are at work, and the project is scheduled to be completed by early summer. (#16-0474)

A slide repair project has begun on U.S. 50 at the 8.04-mile marker, between T.R. 38 (Dill Road) and T.R. 150 (California Hollow Road), approximately three miles east of Bainbridge. During the first phase of construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers. During subsequent phases of the project, traffic will be maintained by temporary signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#16-0516)

SCIOTO COUNTY

MONDAY, APRIL 10: A microsurfacing project is scheduled to begin on S.R. 348 and S.R. 728. Crews will be paving S.R. 348 from T.R. 120 (Pleasant Hill Road) to U.S. 23, and S.R. 728 from its junction with U.S. 23 to C.R. 28 (Lucasville-Minford Road). Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work, and all work is scheduled to be completed in late spring. (#17-0106)

A bridge replacement and signal removal project has begun on S.R. 139. The project site is located adjacent to Rosemount Selby Road, just north of the Portsmouth corporation limit, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary signals. All work is anticipated to be completed by mid-summer. (#17-0067)

A microsurfacing project is under way on U.S. 23. Crews will be paving the route and repairing structures from the northern corporation limit of Portsmouth to T.R. 1204 (Ridge Road) at Lucasville, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane in each direction. All work is anticipated to be completed by mid-summer. (#17-0032)

A culvert replacement project is under way on S.R. 73 at the 11.73-mile marker, immediately west of C.R. 41 (Big Spruce-Little Bear Road) and approximately four miles east of Otway. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary signals, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#16-0552)

S.R. 335 will be reduced to one lane between T.R. 206 (Bull Run Road) and C.R. 204 (Cathey Road), approximately 2.5 miles south of the Pike County line, for a culvert replacement project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary signals, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#16-0538)
