The agenda for Washington Court House City Council meeting was very light Wednesday night, with just one resolution put on first reading that pertained to funding of public defenders for municipal court.
Councilman Ben Roby presided over his first meeting as the newly elected chairperson. This is his second time in this position.
When asked to compare the situation of the city now to 2008 when he last held the position, he replied a tighter budget will make things a little more challenging.
When asked about the cuts to the funding for the police department, Roby said he was very concerned, as they have been unable to fill positions left vacant due to retirement.
The next city council meeting will be held January 22nd 7:30pm in council chambers
