Posted May 15th, 2014 @ 4:26pm

The Wilmington Highway Patrol Post is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash. Authorities say it took place on the State Route 73 bypass, east of US 68, at 11:33am, Thursday. According to the Patrol, 83-year-old Gwendolyn McCormick, of Wilmington, was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of the bypass when her vehicle collided head on with a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Mitchell Davis, of Lynchburg

McCormick was flown to MiamiValleyHospital with life threatening injuries, while Davis was taken to ClintonMemorialHospital with serious injuries, said authorities.

Both occupants were reportedly wearing seat belts, and speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.

Anyone that may of witness the crash or has information about the crash is asked to call the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Wilmington Post at (937) 382-2551

The crash remains under investigation.
