Primary Election Results

Primary election day saw some interesting developments in Fayette and Highland county.

In Fayette County, David Bender defeated Steven Eckstein for Juvenile & Probate Court Judge with 61% of the vote. Electric Aggregation was approved with 59% of the vote, while Electric & Gas Aggregation issues in Jeffersonville also both passed. The Jeffersonville South Local Option for beer & wine passed, but failed for the Sunday option.

In Highland County, the big race was for Republican County Sheriff nomination. Current Sheriff Richard Warner was defeated by Donnie Barrera 4,107 to 2,349. Jeff Duncan won the four person run-off for County Commissioner with just under a 1,000 vote margin over the nearest candidate Pete Pence. The Lynchburg Village Police Levy passed as did Highland Children's Services.  

In Clinton County, East Clinton School District saw passage of their levy with 62% of the vote.
