Washington Court House City Manager Joe Denen is hoping the community will rally together to keep work going on the walking & bike path in Fayette County.

He says the city and other local groups have worked together on a project that will help create the same amount of wetland that might be destroyed if an extension of the bike trail were to be put in.  Groups like Soil & Water and Pheasants Forever will contribute to development of the bike trail system.

He says they are working toward a grant that would take care a lot of the project. Denen adds the development of the trail is needed for safety reasons - a bike path that goes from the city to the YMCA would be a safer option for those who might travel by bike or foot.

He anticipates completion of the trail system will go beyond 2014.
