Authorities say five people were arrested following a drug-related search warrant, Thursday. According to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, authorities searched 3788 U.S. Route #62 SW, shortly after 9pm, following an investigation into alleged drug trafficking from the home, and found a large amount of suspected heroin and several pieces of drug paraphernalia. 


The Sheriff says 26-year-old Robert Smith, of Dayton, was arrested for drug trafficking and on outstanding warrants; 38-year-old Samantha Williams, of Dayton, was arrested for possession of drugs and an outstanding warrant; 35-year-old Melissa Funk and 32-year-old Arthur Johnson, both of Washington CH, were arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments. The resident, 26-year-old Katherine Reeves, was arrested at another location for probation violation and permitting drug abuse. 


All suspects were transported to the Fayette County Jail.
