The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office-Bureau of Criminal Investigation & Identification conducted a two-day marijuana eradication operation throughout Fayette County on Tuesday and Wednesday, canvassing areas by aircraft and recovering over 200 marijuana plants.

According to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, the plants seized during the operation were located in agricultural areas.  Some plants were located growing in and around the area of homes throughout the county.

“During this cooperative effort, the location and seizure of some of the marijuana plants have led to the identity of the growers and these cases will remain under investigation and likely result in the filing of criminal charges”, said Stanforth.
